One Girl, Two Cities

A little of me, from A to Z

me scooterOne of the challenges I have with my blog is feeling like I’m putting enough of “me” into posts, especially when I review something. So this one is a little out of the norm because it’s not about an activity or an event. A few of my blogger friends have posted their already (see links at the bottom) so I thought it’d be fun to join in!

Age: 33… but nearly 34

Biggest Fear: Heights – which is a big reason I went skydiving in 2014, in an attempt to face this fear.

Current Time: 2:25pm

Drink You Had Last: Water

Easiest Person To Talk To: Meghan, my closest friend since college. She is one of those people that I can literally talk to about anything and I’m so fortunate to have her in my life.

Favorite Song: I struggle to choose just one, but I’ll go with Keri Noble’s Flying Solo. All of her music is incredible.

Grossest Memory: I was a kennel assistant at an animal hospital in high school and we had clients bring in a dog who had eaten a whole bag of chocolate-covered pretzels. The doctor decided to induce vomiting just to be safe and guess who got to clean it up? That’s right, this gal. I nearly vomited myself. I’ve cleaned up a lot of nasty stuff over the several years I’ve spent working at animal hospitals, but this one, for whatever reason, what seriously raunchy.

As I was editing, another more recent one came to mind so you’re so lucky that I’m choosing to share both! Chloe threw up on me. From the top of a cabinet. I attempted to get her to a safer, easier to clean up place and did not make it in time. Use your imaginations. You’re welcome.

Hometown: Lakeville, MN

In Love With: Anything to do with cats

Gus and Chloe

Jealous Of: People with confidence. Most days, I feel like I have so very little and I get easily intimidated by confident people.

Kindest Person You Know: My boss – she will always go out of her way to help anyone and everyone. We work with people who have mental health problems and developmental disabilities and she’s great with all of them. I often appreciate her thoughtfulness.

Longest Relationship: 7 and a half years

Middle Name: Fun fact – I don’t have a middle name

Number of Siblings: I have an older sister, Sara

Can you tell we're related?

One Wish: If I can be honest, I wish I wasn’t living with depression and anxiety. It’s a daily struggle and affects many aspects of my life.

Person You Last Spoke To On The Phone: Some rando at work. I’m a receptionist for my day job, and these people sure do keep me on my toes!

Question You’re Always Asked: I frequently get the following two:

Q. Isn’t is hard being vegan? A. At times yes, but I stand by my decision.

Q. What are you? (in relation to my ethnicity) A. My dad is white, my mom is Korean.

Reason to Smile: I’m very lucky to have Chris as a boyfriend (his blogs are Everyday Riding, Everyday Tastiness and Everyday Urban Gardener)

Song You Last Sang: Alright by Darius Rucker was on Buz’n 102.9 on my way back to work from a chiropractor appointment. I listen to country a lot when I’m in the car because all of the other stations sound the same. Except for Hot 102.5. If you haven’t tuned into it, you need to.

Time You Woke Up: 6:15am

Underwear Color: Zebra print

Vacation Destination: At this point in time, I have Chicago on my calendar for October. I’m due for a trip to NYC next year though.

Worst Habit: I bite my nails. I wish I didn’t, but I do.

X-rays You’ve Had: I’ve had two sets of x-rays done on my neck and spine. Once in 2008 when I started going to the chiro for carpal tunnel (so, so fun) and recently in March after a car accident (also so, so fun).

me tattoosYour Favorite Food: Kimchi! And chocolate! But not at the same time!

Zodiac Sign: Leo – loud and proud! I even have a Leo symbol tattooed behind my left ear and a lion tattooed on my back.

So there you have it. I hope you enjoyed learning a few new things about me, and if you’re a blogger too, post your own and link it below because I’d love to read it. For now, I’ll leave you with three others.

Allison from With Faith & Grace – Allison and I only recently started following each other on twitter, and she attended a tweet up I hosted on Sunday. I look forward to finding out more about her and this was a great place to start!

Sara from Writing With Bangles – Sara has transitioned from virtual friend to real life friend and so far is the only guest writer I’ve had on my site. I love that hers has such a great balance of sincerity and humor.

Beth from Bethie The Boo – You’ll get a little of everything on her site, from her mom adventures to thrifting to beer. And word has it her site is getting a makeover soon, so make sure to check back with her.

Thanks for reading!

I loved learning more about you! I’ll be posting mine tomorrow! Fun fact, we just tried making kimchi with some of our CSA goodies. It did not go well. We’ll try again sometime though! And we definitely share a love of cats!!
