Last week was the roughest week I’ve had in a long time. My Grandma Susie passed away Feb 7. She was 93 and had led a long, fulfilling life and I try to remind myself of that when I think about her. She was the only grandparent I ever knew and she meant so much to me. As if that wasn’t enough, I had to figure out how best to wrap up my old job and try to start my new job at The Herbivorous Butcher, working around time for the funeral and time with family who came in from out of town.

I think I basically went into survival mode and tried to just focus on one thing at a time. Thankfully, I have a therapy appointment scheduled for next week because I know I need help figuring out how to process all of this. I truly liked my coworkers at my last job, so leaving that position warranted a little bit of mourning, let alone what I need to get through to properly grieve for my grandma. Everyone involved has been really wonderful and understanding, not that I didn’t expect them to be, but it’s made such a big difference in getting through this. So that’s where we’re at.

I feel like I’m settling in at HB nicely, now that I have two full days under my belt, and I hope that means I can get back into a better writing groove. I’m seeing Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland at Lyric Arts this weekend, so be on the lookout for that review.

Now head over to The Beth Next Door where you can enjoy her Throwback Thursday posts.

I’m happy to see your posts back again! I kind of chuckled at “Went to the Mega Mall” – does anyone really call it that anymore? I hope your new job is going well and I completely understand the mourning process of leaving an old job, especially given that you liked your co-workers. And I know it’s so hard to lose a grandparent too. Been thinking of you – much love to you lady!

Thank you, Beth! I’ve missed having time for my blog. I chuckled about the Mega Mall as well because I can’t even say the last time I heard someone call it that. Thanks so much for your support; it really means a lot. <3
