Monday – I went to an mc chris show in July, and Tribe One was one of the openers. I was a pretty instant fan; he’s a nerdcore rapper and immediately quite likeable. The song I most easily remember is one about the life of Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, but Tribe One also takes time to stress that it’s ok to be unique, and I love that he gives off such a positive vibe. A couple months ago he tweeted that he’d be doing a comic store tour with Adam WarRock in the Midwest and they’re making a stop at Highlander Games and Comics. It’s free and it’s happening.
Tuesday & Wednesday – Funds are low so I’m staying in but I’ll be chatting with Paulie Spit at 8:20 and 9:20pm on Sizzlin 99.9 so listen up!
Thursday – I AM MPLS! enters its fourth year and will be held at Aria in downtown Minneapolis. I know this event will be a blast because it’s my dear friend Megan’s birthday and this is my gift to her. It’s an evening of fashion, comedy and live music – the perfect girls’ night out. Uber, a town car service, is one of the event’s sponsors and is providing general admission ticket holders with up to a $25 ride. The whole evening is to celebrate Minneapolis, so how could it not be fantastic? Tickets are still available here.
Friday – The Historic Mounds Theatre presents A Christmas Carol – Radio Broadcast Show. I scooped up two tickets for $12 on Living Social on a day LS was offering 20% off a purchase. I can’t remember the last time I watched, listened to or read A Christmas Carol so I figured I was due and the price was hard to beat. And it’s in St. Paul; between that and going to the Science Museum on Friday, I’m finally covering both cities!
Saturday – I’m meeting three fantastic girlfriends at Lucky’s 13 Pub for brunch. How could we pass up $2 mimosas? And I’ve got my eye on the breakfast burrito. Or maybe the Captain Crunch French Toast. Or the banana pudding pancakes. It all sounds delicious.
So that’s the week ahead. I think the rest of the month is going to be kind of quiet so I can spend time with the family for the holidays. And I’m a little cash poor right now, so hit me up with any free activities going on!
