One Girl, Two Cities

Guest Profile: Sean McPherson

I purchased “Too Big To Fail” by Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra last year soley because Ashley Gold sings on the album and it ended up as a surprise favorite for me. The group was founded by Sean McPherson, who is also a co-founder of Twin Cities trivia company Trivia Mafia, he plays bass for Dessa, released a sixth album recently with his hip hop band Heiruspecs, has a group called Big Trouble and he’s a fill-in host on The Current from time to time, and I’m sure there’s more that I’m leaving out. I felt like I was taking a shot in the dark in messaging Sean to ask if he could do a call-in interview on Tuesday’s show, but to my delight, he agreed! It means a lot that he would take time out of his busy schedule to chat with me, so I send him many thanks. To listen to the free podcast, click here.

I played the songs “Free Change” and “Halfway Road” by Twinkie Jiggles Broken Orchestra on the show and am looking forward to seeing them perform live for the first time at Icehouse on Saturday. They’re playing at 11am over brunch, so stop on over! There’s no cover and Icehouse has amazing food and drinks.
