Twin Cities VegFest teamed up with the Linden Hills Farmers Weekend for Veg-End: a vegan weekend at the market to get people excited for TCVegFest which will take place Oct 29 and 30 this year. So many of my favorites were there!
Heather from Root to Rise did a food demo, and they also had prepared food for purchase. I picked up some fresh Drunken Noodles, and frozen Enchiladas and Lasagna. So much better than the typical frozen meal! They’re only doing pop up dinners right now, and I hope they have a restaurant someday.
I don’t go to Rainbow Chinese Restaurant often, but their drinks called to me today. I ended up with a Strawberry Rhubarb Lemonade that had rhubarb muddled into it. It wasn’t too sweet and was very refreshing.
Punk Rawk Labs is always a fave, so I stopped by for a bite of their Nacho Cheese. If you ever get a chance to try it, go for it and you’ll be hooked.
Grlk is also amazing. It’s creamy and rich, and it’s one of those “I can’t believe it’s vegan” products. You can seriously put it on basically anything and it’ll bring your dish to the next level. There’s Original, Chipotle Adobo, and Fresh Basil. They’re making hummus now, too.
For something a little sweeter, K’ul Chocolate brought many, many chocolate samples. I especially love their new line of single source bars which tell you from which farm the beans originated.
Comfort Candy was also there, and you’ll always find a huge variety of yummy goodness from them. This mini cupcake was just the right size, and as a fun surprise – there was a dollop of caramel in the center.
Other vegan-friendly business that were there include:
This market was such a great idea, and I loved having so many options. There were several more businesses that I didn’t mention, plus the usual fresh veggies from farmers, too. I wish this could be a thing every weekend! As it was, the market served its purpose, and I’m hyped up for TCVegFest. I’ll be there both days with The Herbivorous Butcher, and it’s going to be a blast. See you there!
