TCVegFest Social Media Eat Street Crawl

One of the many fun activities of my weekend was the Twin Cities VegFest Social Media Eat Street Crawl. TCVegFest is a fun, free, family-friendly event that will take place October 29 an 30 this year from 11am-4pm. If you’ve never attended before, come check it out! There are food samples (everything is vegan), speakers, cooking demos, and so much more.

We started at Reverie Cafe + Bar where Totally Baked Donuts was holding a pop up sale. I arrived a little early for the crawl, so I grabbed an iced coffee and observed the steady line of people excited about picking up some gluten-free vegan donuts.

I hadn’t had Totally Baked Donuts in awhile, and the Maple Almond was perfect. It was light, fresh, not overly sweet, and the shaved almonds added the perfect crunch.

Before we knew it, Reverie slid some Cubanos in front of our faces… They’re going to make them as sliders for TCVegFest! The Cubano is my favorite sandwich at Reverie; it’s a little spicy, a little creamy, and very filling and comforting. Casey from Two City Vegans  was on the crawl, too, so he snapped this pic of me, the Cubanos, and my favorite BEETxBEET shirt.

@reverie_mpls is bringing #vegan Cubano Sliders to @tcvegfest. Hurray!! #tcvegfest #celebratecompassion

Once we’d had our fill of donuts and sammies, we headed to The Wedge Table to search for some TCVegFest exhibitors. It was like a scavenger hunt! Here’s what we found.

Our final stop of the crawl was Jasmine Deli who makes vegan Banh Mi sandwiches with mock duck and tofu. They’re fresh and tasty!

The Tofu Bahn Mi at @jasminedelimpls is DELICIOUS. We are celebrating compassion and can’t wait to see them at @tcvegfest!

Between the delicious vegan food and excellent company, this was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. You can join the conversation on Instagram or Twitter by using the hashtag #TCVegFest, and if you’re on Facebook, RSVP to TCVegFest to get notifications on any updates. I’m working for The Herbivorous Butcher the whole weekend where we’ll have 3 prepared food options, and I hope to see you there!
