The Wedge Table: New Spring Menu

I’ve been a member of The Wedge Co-op for several years, and in 2016 they merged with Linden Hills Co-op for a total of three locations. I’ve always enjoyed going to The Wedge Table which is a smaller space than the co-op that offers a seating area and a bar with alcohol. The Table recently debuted their spring menu, and I was invited to stop in and try out their build-your-own bowl option. They have all of the options listed on a piece of paper, and you can check off what you’d like in your bowl.

I love the number of options they have, and most of the toppings and dressings are vegan. The bowl I selected included brown rice, avocado, seitan, broccolini, spinach, and avocado dressing. The portions were all very generous, and it made for a fresh and filling dinner. As you can see, they mark Paleo/Whole30 friendly options, but it would be nice if they had a marking for vegan options as well – at least for the dressings. As an introvert with social anxiety, the fewer questions I have to ask, the better.

I’m a sucker for pretty much anything ginger, so when I saw the Forage Kombucha near the checkout, I had to grab it. Delicious and refreshing!

The Mexican Wedding Cake was also a must – I’ve had it before and it’s moist and chocolate-y. The cinnamon frosting is the perfect touch.

When I was checking out the menu, the Korean Burrito caught my eye so I went back a few days later to give it a go. Yum! They packed it with seitan, and the carrot ginger dressing complements it nicely. The broccolini and carrots make it feel crisp and fresh. I couldn’t even finish the whole burrito so it made for a nice snack later in the day.

If you find yourself hungry in Uptown Minneapolis, I’d recommend checking out The Wedge Table. They have a selection of grocery items, and you can get juices and smoothies at the bar. There is also a small amount of parking along the south side of the building. I love that the hot food items are made-to-order, and there’s so much more on the spring menu that I can’t wait to go back and try!

How great that there are 2 vegan protein options! It’s always a nice surprise to have choices. I agree that I really appreciate it when vegan options are clearly marked. It makes ordering a lot easier, and you’re not counting on the staff members, who may or may not fully know the menu. How many times have I asked if something is vegan at a restaurant only to be told what is gluten-free?

Yes to all of this! I’ve also experienced the vegan / gluten-free thing multiple times. It especially makes me sad when it’s an eatery that touts itself as having vegan options. If that’s the case, it’s imperative to educate your staff. The Wedge has been inclusive for as long as I can remember, and it’s fun to see them play around with options like the build-your-own bowl.
