One Girl, Two Cities

It’s time to retire

When I started blogging five years ago, I had no idea what to expect. I didn’t consider myself a writer, and I wasn’t sure if anyone would be interested in reading what I had to say. I even remember when I first started soliciting press tickets via email and feeling like a bit of a faker.

As I continued to write, my confidence grew, and I was offered various opportunities because of it. It’s led me to meeting countless friends, it’s offered therapy, and it’s allowed me to share my passions with more people than I could have realized. And now, five years and almost five hundred posts later, it’s time to close the One Girl, Two Cities chapter of my life.

It’s something I’ve been thinking about on and off for the past year. Now that I’m in my late thirties, I’ve felt more and more weird about calling myself a “girl.” And as I continue to write about travel, I want to play around more with branching outside the scope of the Twin Cities. My passion for veganism has also grown during this time, and I’ve decided to hone in on that passion when it comes to blogging. Because of all these things, it made sense to retire One Girl, Two Cities and create something fresh.

Which has led me to my new blog and handle: Bite-Sized Beet. The website is live, and I’ve carried over the majority of posts that are relevant. Since the majority of my other posts on here have been theater reviews, I’m leaving that door open. I’ll review significantly fewer shows, but my friends at Minnesota Theater Love and Compendium have both welcomed me to guest post on their websites. I’m not sure what that means for the content on this website, but I have the domain for two more years so I have time to think about it.

Where to find me:

Website  |  Facebook  |  Instagram  |  Twitter

To anyone who has ever read, shared, commented, followed, etc., I extend endless thanks. Your support means more than you probably know. And even if veganism isn’t really your thing, I hope you’ll follow me over to the new page. If you were already following me on Instagram and Twitter, you may have noticed the change in handle already.

I’m excited to switch things up, and it feels right. Cheers to new adventures!

Unfortunate to hear. I don’t really have an interest in veganism but have been following you since I moved to the Twincies. Best of luck with life.
